The affinity with natural materials is part of our brand claim. We see the use of sustainable and durable materials as a matter of course. In addition, we promote initiatives to raise awareness in the use of our products. In the long-term campaign "Use me twice, so our world stays nice", we encourage people to use our high-quality paper gift bags more than once.
Climate and environmental protection is important to us, which is why we are constantly looking at how we can eliminate and reduce CO2 emissions from our company headquarters to the supply chain. We also make a financial contribution to climate protection projects around the world.
We have been thinking about how we can make our products and processes more sustainable for several years now. Now we have been reaffirmed in our ambition once again, as ARTEBENE has been honoured with the German Sustainability Award 2024, making it one of the 100 pioneers of transformation in the German economy.
The protection of the underwater world and its endangered species is particularly important to us at ARTEBENE. Our own passion for diving has led to a growing interest in projects such as the planting of our own ARTEBENE coral garden in the Maldives together with the Marine Lab Center and the Red Sea Project in Egypt, which work to protect and preserve the biodiversity of marine ecosystems.
As a family-run business, we have a social responsibility. It is up to us, together with partner organisations and suppliers, to take an active role in encouraging fair working conditions in our supply chain. For this, we are a member of the UN Global Compact, the world's most important initiative for responsible corporate governance.
We work on sustainable packaging solutions both in-store and online. Where possible, we pursue the approach of completely avoiding product packaging. As part of the "No plastic bag, let's keep our planet green" initiative, we have already freed entire product groups from plastic packaging. We are significantly reducing our emissions. This is achieved through the reduction of shipments by air, our shipping service provider's climate-neutral transports and offering our employees to work from home flexibly.
We are consistently pursuing the use of renewable energy sources. Through a long-term energy programme, we are expanding the improvement of our energy efficiency. We purchase green electricity and have already switched parts of our vehicle fleet to e-mobility.
